We are the industry leader in Professional/Commercial Grade Barn Camera and Trailer Camera Systems. We offer toll free customer support and free life-time technical support.
Will your wireless barn camera system work with a metal, stone or wood barn?
Our systems are specifically designed to work with any barn. Our transmitters are weatherproof and designed to be mounted on the outside of the barn so you don't have to transmit through the barn walls.
What is the difference between Horsewatcher wired and wireless barn cameras?
Wired cameras have a video cable that runs from the camera in the barn to your TV. Wireless cameras have a
built-in transmitter that sends the video signal to a receiver. The receiver
connects to your TV. With a wireless system, you do not have a cable running from the barn to your house.
What is the range of the Horsewatcher wireless barn cameras?
The standard wireless cameras have a range up to 1000 feet, depending on the
number and type of objects you are transmitting through. The long range
transmitter has a range up to 3500 feet. If your barn is within 400 feet of your house you can generally use the standard grade transmitter. If you are over 400 feet away you may need the Long Range Transmitter or an outdoor receiver with the standard grade system. If you have any questions on which transmitter you need please feel free to give us a call.
How much light do the cameras require?
The standard B/W Camera can see about as well as the human eye can see. If you can see the camera can see. The standard Color Camera does require a small light on in the barn. We do also offer B/W and Color Infrared Cameras. These cameras do not require any light in the barn.
Is a special Horsewatcher recorder or monitor needed?
Any recording or viewing device with video input capabilities can be used,
for example, a VCR, TV, camcorder or computer.
How long can the Horsewatcher cameras record?
The amount of recording time is dictated by your recording device. A
standard VCR can record for up to 10 hours if a T-200 tape is used. We also
offer long play recorders that will record for 24 to 960 hours on one tape. You can also record to your computer with our Remote Witness software.
Can I view my cameras over the internet?
Yes, you can view your cameras over the internet with our Remote Witness software programs. For more information please see our Remote Viewing section of our web site.
What does resolution mean?
Resolution measures the cameras ability to reproduce an image. The higher
the resolution, the better the picture quality.
What does lux mean?
Lux is the measure of light the camera needs to reproduce an image. The
lower the number, the less light the camera needs.
